Using Red Malay Kratom for Pain
Over 50 million Americans alone suffer from some form of chronic pain. I myself suffer from back and neck aches. Honestly, this can interfere with my work. That’s why I find that Red Malay works wonders for my pain.
I’ve made the switch to kratom instead of over the counter meds. Why? Because I believe it’s a lot less harmful than a lot of these store bought drugs. The side effects, if any, are short term and mild. Plus, it provides other benefits that I love, which we’ll go over in a bit.
Where it Comes From and How it Works
Red Malay Kratom is grown in, you guessed it, Malaysia. The climate and environment here is exceptional for kratom growth. The rich soil helps provide this strain with tons of alkaloids.
Some of the alkaloids in Red Malay Kratom are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. What these alkaloids do is that they attach to certain brain receptors which send signals to the area where you feel pain.
If you’re familiar with kratom, then you probably already know that red strains are the best for pain relief because they contain tons of these beloved alkaloids. They’re a bit sedative, but work great.
Kratom can help manage your pain from the following:
- Back Pain
- Arthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Post-trauma pain
- Neurogenic pain
- Other Chronic Pain
Since it also attaches to the same receptors that opioids do, those getting off addictive drugs and pain meds find that this helps a lot with their chronic pain and opioid withdrawals.
Other Effects
Sedation
At moderate to higher doses, White Malay Kratom can be sedative and sleep-inducing.
This is why I think it can be great to take a few hours before you sleep. I wouldn’t necessarily take this strain if you need some intense energy and stimulation. But, it can be great as an afternoon strain.
Keep in mind that higher doses of this can actually make you feel drowsy, so you’ll want to be careful of how much you’re taking in one day.
Relaxation
Red Malay is also used for those who just want to unwind.
It’s been used as a recreational herbal supplement by native Southeast Asians for hundreds of years. Now, people around the world are using it for recreational purposes as well.
I find it relaxes my body and mind, which helps me get through my hectic day.
Calming Anxiety and Depression
Since it’s a relaxing and calming strain, tons of people with anxiety and depression use Red Malay to get it under control.
I suffer from mild to moderate anxiety almost on a daily basis. I’ve noticed that it has helped calm my anxiety down a lot. It’s not a cure, as nothing is, but it can help boost your mood a bit and give you an overall sense of calmness.
Euphoric
Red Malay is considered to be one of the most euphoric strains out there. I am one of those Red Malay Users that often feels that euphoria and happiness.
One thing I do want to mention is that not everyone feels euphoric with kratom. It’s going to really depend on your biochemistry and how sensitive you are to strains.

Red Malay Kratom Dosage
When taking Red Malay kratom, the best dosage is typically between 2-5 grams. However, this is going to depend on your tolerance, weight, and if you have food in your system.
The effects are typically stronger when you take it on an empty stomach.
But, you should start with what you’re used to taking. You can always add 0.5-1 gram per day if you don’t feel anything the first time around.
If you’ve never taken kratom before, you can start with 1.5-2.5 grams of Red Malay. This is the threshold. If you don’t feel anything within the first hour, you can take another gram. I wouldn’t exceed that amount in a day though.

How to Prepare Red Malay Kratom
You can prepare your Red Malay Kratom any way you’d like. Some like to just mix it in with water and drink as is.
But, I prefer to make myself a kratom tea because I find it to be much more potent. Let me show you how to make a warm and iced kratom tea!
Warm Kratom Tea
Red Malay Kratom powder is often made into this traditional warm kratom tea.
Here’s how I do it:
Step 1: I simmer my measured kratom powder and squeeze 1 cup of lemon juice (for extra potency)
Step 2: Simmer both for 15 minutes (don’t let it burn or boil because it will lose all of the good alkaloids)
Step 3: Add about 1-2 cup of water and simmer for another 15 minutes.
Step 4: This is optional but I usually add about 1-2 teaspoons of honey to sweeten it up a bit.
And… you’re ready to enjoy!
Iced Kratom Tea
For those warm summer days, I make my kratom tea iced.
You’ll want to follow the exact same steps above. But, you’ll want to let it cool for about an hour or two.
Then, you can add tons of ice and drink up! You’ve got yourself an iced kratom tea.
Other Ways to Take Kratom
Another popular method of consumption are Red Malay Kratom capsules.
This has become very popular because it doesn’t have that bitter taste that regular powder does. Also, it’s so much faster to consume because you don’t need to measure out anything. Plus, it’s not messy at all!
There’s a few drawbacks, though. You can’t measure out an exact amount for yourself and they tend to be a bit more expensive.
I still recommend it if you hate the taste of kratom and want something quicker.
Getting Kratom Online
The cool thing about there being tons of online shops is that you never have to step foot into a headshop or smoke shop to get your hands on kratom. Those stores tend to hike up the prices anyway.
You can easily get your kratom from reputable vendors like Kratom Krush and more. They offer free shipping and you can get your Red Malay kratom fix fast.
